This is the first of many pictures of Quentin Tarantino’s new flick the Inglorious Basterds.

During World War II a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as The Basterds are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.

New Who!

From The Daily P.O.P.: (EDITED)

In any case, with a new producer coming on board, Tennant may finally be on his way out. Production trouble and scandal kept each Doctor before him from breaking the 4 year mark and it looks like 2011 may be Tennant’s last season to make peace with his magic wand before handing it off to a new guy. According to Richard Johnston, that new guy is Paterson Joseph.

An actor raised on the stage yet equally capable of delivering a quality performance on the CRT (HD), Joseph carries with him the kind of character and other-worldly austerity that make him an ideal choice to bring Doctor Who back to its roots. Rich Johnson said that Joseph had a kind of ‘Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee)’ thing going on and that is certainly true if you squint a bit. A showman and entertainer, Joseph is also an actor with authority which the character so desperately needs… and he has a voice that purrrss… doesn’t he?

Oh yeah, and he is black too.

The idea of casting an actor of color has riled fans in the past but I think that it may finally be time to let that demon go and accept the fact that such a thing can and should happen. Eccleston’s street-cred Doctor appealed to a group of viewers never before catered to by Doctor Who (and consequently made the show ‘cool’ for the first time in roughly 30 years). The casting of Paterson Joseph could likewise attract an audience that never saw themselves in the shoes of this Timelord… and that cannot be a bad thing.

That’s right, I’m talking about bald guys.

Another interesting rumor floating around is that from TrekWeb. Yes, Patrick Stewart may guest star in Doctor Who next year, possibly as the Meddling Monk. A character not seen since the 1960s.

According to the site, an insider close to the Star Trek team said yesterday: “Patrick has been formally approached to star in Doctor Who and is very keen to do it.”

Sequels!

It has been confirmed that several movies have been cleared for sequels!

Jason Bourne will be back for number 4!

From FirstShowing.Net:

The fourth book in the Bourne series was written instead by Eric Van Lustbader, not Robert Ludlum, and thus the studio has decided to go down their own path choosing a story this time. Producer Frank Marshall said they’ll probably take Bourne “down south” to South America in the fourth film, but story details aren’t fully finalized. Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass, who directed both Supremacy and Ultimatum, will return again for Bourne 4. Considering The Bourne Ultimatum is still one of my favorite movies from last year, I’m very glad to hear that they’re continuing on. Especially because it’s the closest thing to becoming a new James Bond style franchise that could go on endlessly.

Maxwell Smart will be back for Get Smart 2! Get Smarter?

No further news yet…Just that Carrell is signed up for it.

M. Night Shyamalan wants Unbreakable 2!

This one has not been officialized yet…but he wants a sequel!

Tons of Trek!
