I know its hard to believe…but Batman will be dying. Just like the Superman death a decade ago. And just like that there will be a battle to take up the mantle of Batman.

So here is the teaser for the upcoming series.

And for the Identification of all the Batmen:

• Tim “Robin” Drake, as indicated by the bo staff, wearing a ’70s-ish Batcostume with the New Look chest symbol.
• Dick “Nightwing” Grayson, as indicated by the chest-bat most resembling the Nightwing symbol.
• Harvey “Two-Face” Dent, wearing a color-modified version of the Golden Age Batman suit.
• Bandolier Batman there is the remaining one of the three cops who were tapped to replace Batman if he died (it was in the beginning part of Morrison’s run on Batman, and a reference to a Silver Age story); this is guy who, wearing the Suit of Sorrows, will become the new Azrael.
• Thomas “Hush” Eliott (who, if you’ve been reading Dini’s Detective, you’ll know had himself surgically altered to resemble Bruce Wayne), as indicated by the bandage.

Now it starts to get trickier. Our supporting characters are:

• Harley Quinn?
• Alfred Pennyworth.
• Batwoman
• Damien Head, Bruce’s supposed child by Talia.
• A corpse in a box marked Wayne Enterprises. A very small box. A box way too small to hold the corpse of any normal man, let alone Bruce Wayne. A corpse with a suspiciously feminine arm. Madame Van Dusen, LOL?

What ever happened to the classics of one comic one mystery? Why does everyone die?

Or does it simply mirror the current environment we live in today?

It appears that Johnny Depp is “confirmed” as playing the Mad Hatter in Disney’s 3D version of Wonderland. This was translated from MSN Latin America:

“Actor Johnny Depp was chosen to play “Mad Hatter” in Tim Burton’s version of “Alice in Wonderland”. Burton was hired by Disney studios to make the 3D version if Lewis Carrol’s classic. Depp is the second confirmed cast member. Australian Mia Wasikowska will play Alice.”

Now even though The Dark Knight has just emerged (and doing quite well) rumors are flying as to who will play the villians in the next feature. So Far previous Catwoman Julie Newmar has said that Angelina Jolie should be Catwoman, Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, and Johnny Depp should be the Riddler.

An earlier rumor I heard is that Nolan will steer clear of the Penguin and Catwoman (and I hope he does). The Penguin seems a bit far fetched in this series and Catwoman…could be complicated. Plus I don’t see Jolie as a Catwoman. Although I can see Depp as Riddler. However, in the Dark Knight, the Accountant/Lawyer for Wayne Enterprises (who was going to go public with Batman’s identity) name was Mr. Reese (mysteries). If this is true I think they should stick with that actor to play the Riddler. But it is still way to early to start worrying about the next film.
