Ok…so even if it was a really cool opening sequence for Star Trek’s trailer…obviously in “real life” it would have been hard for Young Kirk to jump out of a beautiful car careening over a cliff and he drags himself up.
Adam Weiner, took up the science and calculated what would happen and how much force it would take Young Kirk to hold on and not get flattened by Gravity.
Young Kirk would have to battle 877 lbs. of force with his fingers.
So what does it all mean? It means that since the only thing(s) slwoing him down are his fingers digging into the ground, James T. Kirk will ahve to exert a force of almost 900 pounds with those fingers to stop him from being flung over the precipice.
Ouch…
